International News: India's Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had a significant conversation with the new Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on Sunday. In this discussion, the two leaders discussed detailed to further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen economic and strategic cooperation and to advance shared interests. 58-year-old Anita Anand has been appointed to the post of Foreign Minister of Canada earlier this month. He took over this responsibility after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's recent federal election victory. Earlier, Anand was employed as innovation, science and industry minister and has many important ministries including Defense Minister. He has replaced former External Affairs Minister Melani Jolie, who is now the Minister of Industry of Canada.
Jaishankar said in his tweet that he described the teleclass with Anita Anand as very useful and meaningful. The two leaders discussed the strong traditional relations of India-Canada and the possibilities of growing cooperation. Jaishankar also greeted Anand for a successful tenure.
